Brooks-Range BackCountry Multi Tool Review
on: November 29, 2011, 01:51:59 AM
I was promoted to buy one of these from this post....http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,33192.0.html
The hex adapter and the wrench are 2 things I will use for sure.
The unit is made of aluminum and steel....It is light weight weighing 6 oz

What is really unique is the way 4 hex bits can be stored in the tool
2 on one side and 2 on the other as shown in the pictures

the one thing I dont like is that the blade, which locks,  cannot be unlocked unless you move the wrench/bottle opener tool out of the way to release the locking tab...you cannot open the knife either unless you move this tool....

That looks like an interesting MT. I might have to try and get one for myself somehow.

comes with a nice sheath with bit storage pocket in the back as well!
overall, this is a really nice tool , with the exception of the inability to access the knife easily
MSRP is 69.99, but, I was able to find one for 49.99 with free shipping from http://www.7summitsgear.com/default.aspx
I don't see this listed on the site anymore, so it must have been a clearance item.

Thanks for the review and pics :tu:

This kinda answers this from http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,33192.0.html
Is it just me or is the OHO hole on the blade completely hidden behind the 'wrench'?
Still, interesting MT, I do like the use of standard hex bits, the on board bit storage is neat :tu:

the drill is a standard hex bit that fits in the tool, the needle is simply a needle that you could use
