Alox Farmer for Thailand
on: November 27, 2011, 09:49:58 PM
This nice orange Farmer was made for collectors in Thailand and is limited to 50 pieces.
My collector friend Korakot from Thailand explained me the inscriptions on the knife.
Thanks again!  :salute:

On the blade:
The "Dharmachakra" -  the wheel of law
2499 ist the year in Buddhist calandar which is comparable to 1956. It's the year Thailand's beloved King (His Majesty King Rama IX of Thailand) became a Buddhist Monk.
The Thai sentence "ในหลวงทรงผนวช" means His Majesty became a Buddhist Monk.
The pictured Monk of course is His Majesty.

On the engraving panel:
The symbol "๒๔๙๙" is the Buddhist Calendar year 2499 in Thai language.

On the blade's backside engraved:
2011 and the serial number 50/33

That's beautiful! That laser engraving is very nice.

I guess the engraving panel is not large enough for King Rama's complete title ;)
