Gifting tools for Christmas.
on: November 21, 2011, 02:51:12 AM
Just placed a order for a Super Tool 300 to give to my brother for Christmas. I think he will like it. I'm thinking he will throw it in his hunting bag.

Anyone else gifting MT'S or SAK'S for the upcoming holiday?

Don't think so.   Are you thinking it might be too much tool for a first MT.  :D

Yeah I'm planning to buy a couple of Climbers with names engraved on them for a few folks. It's difficult to judge who'll like them and who won't.

I'll bet each person to whom you give a tool/knife will *like* it...the real question may be who will *use* it. It's OK for a collector's knife to go in a drawer or on display, but it's a shame for a daily carry knife to languish somewhere while the owner fumbles for something to cut with, turn a screw with, etc.

Essentially, we want the owners of the new items to know what we know...Swiss Army knives are C-O-O-L!

I bought five Wingman tools to give as gifts; one to a co-worker who recently got married and the others for my dad/brothers.

Most of them have other MTs already, but for some it will likely be their first. I imagine Leatherman will sell A LOT of these that are purchased as gifts, and since most of the recipients are going to be first-time MT owners, it will end up being an invaluable foothold in the market when these folks go to upgrade in the future.

I'm assisting my wife with her Dad and bro's gifts this year, I recommended a Buck 110 for each since they all hunt.

I also hunt so another good recommendation would be Outdoor Edge Trophy pack.  Excellant  Saw and knife set with gut hook. Saw is great for clearing limbs out of shooting lanes and makeing ground blind's ect...  :tu:

No, not at all. I was thinking it would have been cool to have a nice tool like that as a first timer

I bought my step dad a Gerber Flik off of ebay, NIB for about half what it would cost in store here.  It arrived today, and this is the first time I got to play with one, you know, I had to try it out  :D  The blade wouldn't cut paper out of the box, but now it will shave hair!
