Zilla tool passaround
on: January 10, 2008, 01:16:08 AM
Anyone interested? I have the Zilla tool and really not to impressed with it. But to be fair would anyone like to try it?

I would open this to everyone from every country. It would travel one continent at a time starting with the UK.

Names from the continent would be picked at random and everyone would have to agree if they are the last they are responsible to mail it to the next batch.

You would keep it for 5 days and mail to the next. It would be trackable and insured.

If you are unable to sharpen a blade leave it for the next one.

At the end we could auction the tool off, and give the procedes to Tim. He has most likely given everyone here a break on something and it goes to the kitties. Even if it only gets $20 it would feed a couple.

Unlike passarounds I have participated in at Blade Forums, and the Usual Suspects. I really think it would be cool for this tool to go around the world. It would kinda be a tool that travels more than we do.

Anyone want in?

I think it's a great idea, but we'd also have to look into making certain it got where it was going.  My tools have traveled around the UK a few times now with no problems, but you have to remember that there are very few, if any guarantees when it comes to international shipping.

I am interested, so for now at least, lets hear what folks think and how many would want to get involved.

Be fun to have a world-traveling "Flat Stanley" of sorts in the Zilla.

I seem to recall the Zilla not being terribly expensive to start with.
Cheaper than most multis or a good knife anyway.

By all means go ahead, but I'm not sure it'd be a worth a trip overseas.

Hell, one of us could buy a Guppie and then send them together. I was actually planning on getting one this weekend, if no one else pipes up and this is cool for the passaround I'll volunteer mine.
