I have all three models, and am very happy with all of them (especially the E11).
I second the eneloop idea if you are going to EDC them. If they are going to be backups or in storage, use lithiums. You may also want to take a look at this simple mod. I did it to one of mine and like the way it smooths out the beam. I have not done it to all of them so I have some options
BTW......is there any diff in brightness levels, on E01, between eneloops and lithium?
Thanks for the info chaps I read that whole thread, great idea, anyone else here tried it? I think I will give it a go, mine has a purplish tint, doesnt affect the brightness or useability tho. But I would prefare it a bit more "open". I have AA+AAA eneloops (Sanyo) so will be trying them with those.
The only "negative" thing about the e01 is that after almost 4 months of multiple daily use, the finish is starting to come off here and there... I don't carry it on a keychain, so it doesn't get scratched up a lot, but it's most noticeable on the flashlight's head- I wonder whether the friction with your fingers can cause that

Wear marks are good. Yes, they do tend to loose their ano but are one of the toughest little flashlights out there. And seem to work forever on a lithium primary battery. I've been looking at that e11 for a long time. It looks like a great flashlight for the money. But I have too many flashlights already, I really don't NEED another one.
I have a E01 ... I'm considering a E05... wondering why the E05 is better... can you convince me?
