I received an olight i5t Eos yesterday. So far so good. I normally like my torches with AAA batteries, but time will tell. Was actually looking the i3t but got too good a deal on the i5t.

I just received a Nitecore LR12.  A much appreciated gift from my daughter, this is a really good flashlight.

It has four light settings from "just about enough to see in really dark conditions" (58 lumens) and then rising in increments to "wow it's daylight in here" (1000 lumens).  Runs on CR123 batteries and also on 18650 rechargeables.

It works well as a flashlight, but also has a wind out diffuser to use as a tent light or for power outs etc.

Positives:  Light, fairly compact, and a whopping 1000 lumens if you need it. Wind out diffuser for blackouts etc.  It is the big brother of the Nitecore LA10 which is a superb tent light / electronic candle so has the magnetic base and proven robust build quality of that model.

Downsides: Smooth barrel, so ideally needs the lanyard (supplied).  Base tightening for switch rather than push button, so does need two hands to turn on/off & adjust (I'm happy with this arrangement but I know some folks prefer a traditional on/off switch).  Diffuser not as good as on LA10, but works better as a flashlight.

Overall: I'm very pleased with the build quality and compact nature of this flashlight  :tu:

Nice light and glad your first impression is positive.  I recently became aware this light existed and am considering getting it to replace the Niteye Mini on my keychain

It's been in my pocket non-stop since I bought it and I really have no complaints.  I'd loose the UV light without any issue but it's not a real problem.

Ordered! Been very happy with the tubes and find the tip just a bit too big for the keychain but like the extra power, Tiki looks prefect should get it in next few days

Awesome.  I hope you like it as much as I do.  The Tube is still a great option and I don't mind the extra size of the TIP but the Tiki really does feel to be the best of both worlds. :)

The switch has 3 positions. The middle position allows the use of the red round button to activate the light at will. Stated run time is 8 hours on 6 AA, with a lumen of 640.

What can I say, it was on sale.

I just did some Googline and it looks like that light was a limited edition, you can still find them for around $30USD but not locally in the UK. Why did you do this to me Chako, nothing but a tempter

The local shop has plenty in stock. I fear sending it off to you in the UK will cost a mint. I sent a package to a fellow member in New Zealand and it cost me nearly 70 bucks and it took 3 months to reach him.  :ahhh

Looks pretty neat! Around here, basically every mom and pop shop carries Nebo flashlights, usually a smaller worklight model. But aiee, 6xAA? It's the reason I went to rechargeable Olights for my main lights, and am getting Eneloops for all that use AA and AAA batteries. Besides, looking at the manual on my i3EOS, I can get a lot more runtime with rechargeables.

Does this Classic have the ability to use D cells? It seems like it should be the right size.

Not sure...but at the same voltage...if it does fit, you will be tossing away a lot of lumen.

I recently received a RovyVon Aurora A6, and decided I liked it so much I have just ordered the slightly more powerful A8X.  I don't use my small lights on Hi for very long, and these tiny lights have a very impressive Hi (and shine for a long time on the more sensible Lo settings).  They have a rechargeable battery but it is built in, so when it claps out I guess I will be buying a complete new light ( hopefully that is some years away).

Nice light Sos, looks like an impressive one for a single 18650  :tu:

Today my free i1r 2 arrived from the Olight sale (just had to pay p&p, bargain!). I'm liking the changes over my original version, I was lucky to get mint like I wanted too:

The RovyVon Aurora A8x arrived and I tried it out last night.  It is indeed very bright for such a tiny light (although not for long, output drops back quickly due to heat build-up).

I think I like it, but the user interface takes a bit of getting used to (lots of options, including Uv).  It's on my car keys, so we'll see if it sticks (I have quite a few other small lights if I decide I don't like it long term)

I have the copy very similar light from Nitecore.  I'm happy enough with the double click to access the main light but the triple click for the UV etc is a bit more fiddly.  Not that I'm trying to use the secondary LEDs all the often mind you.  However when I do I will often end up turning the main light on and cycling one mode forward. Not the end of the world and it might be easier if I actually did it more.

.... it might be easier if I actually did it more.

That's the downside of "less common/more complex" User Interfaces (UI).

If you don't use the light regularly you tend to forget how to use the light efficiently, so you just start clicking (or twisting) at random and hope you end up with something approximating what you wanted.

I like the Zebralight UI, press and hold until you get something usable.
