Disneyworld!
on: December 27, 2011, 09:00:17 PM
Had a great trip last week at Disneyworld in Florida. We stayed in a cabin in the Wilderness area park.

my favourite park is Epcot..the place is huge with all the countries to visit toward the back of the park.

Nice photos. I had always wanted to go to Disney, but my parents couldn't afford the trip. It did not help that my neighbour and best friend went every year with his family. On the plus side, I did get to visit plenty of neat theme parks in NY and area. (Grew up in Cornwall Ontario till the age of 7).

Sadly some of them no longer exist anymore.

The one I remember the most was Frontier Town. I went twice to this amazing place back in the mid to late 70s. Sorry to see it go.

Thanks for sharing Pacu! We have two Disney Theme parks here in Asia, one in Tokyo and another in Hong Kong but I heard they are nothing compared to the original Disney world in the US. How long does it take to really explore and enjoy Disney World is two days good enough?

Two days is nowhere close to enough time Donald. :o The entire park complex is enormous, and it includes several theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios)  I'd say you need at least 5 to 7 days to do it right (and even then you wouldn't see everything)

Thanks for sharing the pics Pacu!

I remember a 'Sunday drive' when I was about 10, where we followed a dirt road to a small trailer with a diorama of the future Disneyworld!  They had just secretly arranged the purchase of whatever-thousand acres for the new park.  Had to keep it secret to avoid speculation.
My dad wanted to buy some stock at the time, but mom said it was too risky or something.  About 5 years ago I reminded him of that time, and he said if he had only bought 10 shares of disneyworld back then...    :-\
Originally the admission was a few dollars, and you purchased coupon books based on how much you wanted to do.  They didn't expire, so there was a lot of sharing among family & friends.  An A coupon got a ride on the taxi, and a E ticket was good for the Haunted Mansion or something good.  There was always a shortage of E tickets.    :)

Ah the memories.

That place really is magic.  I would live there if I could figure out how to do it.
