i can go without a clicky, but I prefer a clicky.I'm open to all suggestions.btw the one I have right now is 5 lumens.
I haven't been keeping up with the newer lights available but this Fenix P1D-Ce has been my keychain light for years now. It's been dropped, kicked, gone into puddles and has served me well. A great keychain light. I don't have any clue what I would replace it with if something happened to it. (Image removed from quote.)
Good call, and regarding your other thread: I've had that light (threads lubed up and all) on my key ring 3-4 months now. Not once has it shown signs of backing off tightness. Main reason being is that the body separates at the head for battery replacement, not the tail cap. So there is not a lot of torque on a low-resistance piece. You should be good, enjoy!
If you like the preon lights you really should get a quark miniX 123. I got my first minix off Jeff (cutlerylover) and traded it cause I thought my preons were enough. I regretted it the day I did it. Didn't take me long to get another. Now my roomy also carries the minix. We both also still carry are fenix e01 on our keys but the minix rides in front pocket at ALL times. It would make a great keychain light. I love the quark series. I also have some of the bigger quark series lights.

IMO beam tint and profile are more important than total output. Not that it doesn't matter, but I'm willing to trade a few lumens to get a neutral or high CRI emitter and a beam profile that's more suited to my needs for the light. They're generally harder to find, and sometimes cost a little more, but a neutral or high CRI emitter is definitely worth it.

Big lumens are fun, but not always useful, or pretty.I had an E05 in my keys for a year, and the little hole in the front of the optic filled with fluff and ruined the output. Plus is was only 1 mode.I've gone down the same path with a HCRI Preon, and couldn't be happier. At lower light levels the higher red output of the warm HCRI emitter will make things easier for you. You'll be shocked at how much better you can see in low mode with the HCRI than with a cool tint emitter. All that said, in the great tradition of these sorts of questions, my advice is to buy both. You'll be much happier then
