Customers are giving me rave reviews about Zwiebruder Optoelectronics "Led Lenser" Frogman series.

Of course, I don't trust those lying hounds.

Any of you more decent, respectable folk have any experience or opinions on these? (or any other of Zwiebruder's Led Lenser range)

I don't have any direct experience with the LED Lenser lights but here's a link to the flashlightreviews mega-review of a lot of their lights.

I have one of these guys (the "three A black" model):

http://www.zweibrueder.com/english/products/torchesandflashlights/ledlenservseries/ledlenserv.html

It's a decent light. It has a tailcap clickie "forward-on" switch. Press it down slighty for momentary on and all the way for full on. It's supposed to have about 40 lumens output, which is exceeded by the Fenix L2D/P2D I have, which is cheaper. However, this one is really solid, the guy at the shop who sold it to me reckoned that his friend had one that got run over in the car park and got scratched up pretty bad, but still worked. Of course, I don't trust those lying hounds, but I'd beleive it with this torch.

They're supposed to be releasing a newer model that uses a much brighter cree LED, and a better nylon pouch. I haven't seen these yet though. That info was posted on candlepowerforums.

Many of the lights are sold under other brand names like Coast, but keep the LED-Lenser moniker.

I've not been that impressed with them, but I've only handled a couple of models.

The Frogman model would be great for diving but, due to the tight focus of the optic, I wouldn't want to use it for EDC.  "Floodier" lights are generally preferred for that.

Hey Neat! I'll ask my Zwiebrueder lady if I can get them in Oz! (I doubt it though)

The Frogman range are the only ones they make that are waterproof (some of the Tactical ones are "Splash Proof", but smurf to that)

I would certainly love to order one from ya.

I would love to compare some off brand stuff to the big boys.

Especially this one.

Mammut?

Anyone know if this is the same Mammut that makes climbing ropes and mountaineering gear?

If so, I'd expect their tools to be pretty darn decent.

It seems to be a half decent range, and only one of them has the dreaded Scaling tool.

I wonder who makes them?

I actually will be going with the Cheepo 15$ one. I really hate to buy a tool no one knows anything about.

I don't mind the Coast LED Lenser's. I picked up two of them at Home Depot for cheap and they work pretty well. I got a $20 and a $25 dollar one.. They are more of a floodlight though and I am not a fan of that!
