My Cross pen rolled off the desk today. When I picked it up, the tip wouldn't rotate out. When I pulled it apart, I could immediately see the problem. The ink refill was not engaged with the tube. On closer inspection, the threaded part of the refill had broken off of the refill and the threads were stuck in the barrel of the pen.
That's when I whipped out my Vic executive and opened the orange peeler. It had just enough bite to back out the small fragment of threaded tube.
The broken refill is there next to the new refill. The threaded part is on the paper.
Mammoth tusk Victorinox Executive: Not just a pretty face.
