Victorinox 8" chef knife tapered edge...hold an edge better?

I'm a little confused on what it says on the box for this knife.
heres what is says on the box.

"Tapered knife edge is ground in two directions to hold a sharp edge longer"



--Does that mean the edge is cut at 2 different angles? :pok:
if so how does that hold an edge longer??  ?

if so how does that hold an edge longer??  ?

That would be my guess.  I'd think they use a shallower grind right at the edge itself so it creates a wider angle between the two grinds at that point, meaning the material will be wider and less prone to roll, fold, chip, etc.  Probably just a cheap implementation of a convex grind for the edge.
