French Multi-Blade Knife - Stainless and Carbon
on: March 18, 2012, 05:23:40 PM
Not Swiss, but Interesting to study.  Looks similar to some older Wengers.  What I find most interesting is that it uses brass, stainless, and carbon steel.  Only the main blade is stainless... and in this case provides a striking contrast to the other heavily rusted implements.  However because of the brass liners all the tools still open relatively smoothly and there are no broken springs.  Needs a good cleaning, but that might further damage the scales which have had a fair amount of shinkage.

Too bad it wasn't the other way around, a carbon main blade and inox tools would be pretty cool.

  • In a world of compromise, some don't.
