Placed my first tobacco order in quite a long time yesterday. I'm only an occasional smoker, and would grab a 25g pouch of loose/weighed out Gawith Hoggarth, once every couple of months or so. However, with the current social distancing, plus the residual distancing I'll most likely be doing afterwards till treatments/vaccines emerge, the occasional jaunt through town for a pouch is off the table for the foreseeable future.I ordered a tin each of Best Brown Flake, Full Virginia Flake, Bob's Chocolate Flake, and Squadron Leader. I also ordered 100g of Virginia shag tobacco for when I want a quicker smoke. That should, if disciplined, last me the rest of the year.I also stocked up on vape juice from the same place. My usual shop for that, is another trip I shouldn't be taking, whether they're open or not. However, I got stocked up at a price which was 25% less per bottle than I'd normally pay, and again, I got enough to last me several months. The motivation for stocking up like this, was not just avoiding folks in town, but also minimising delivery charges. A £15 tin of tobacco, easily becomes a £20+ tin of tobacco if bought alone. As it turned out, the delivery actually qualified for free shipping, so there was a bigger saving than I expected. The only challenge now, is staying disciplined, and not allowing my rate of consumption to suddenly increase. It's a lot easier to not walk a mile into to town to pick up a pouch, than it is to not pack a bowl with tobacco you already have.
