Another What is it symbol? Government Seal

OK, who here knows US Government seals? I found this Victorinox Bijou with a gold colored seal on the front side with nothing on the back side. It almost looks like a US Presidential Seal but the Star at the top is different. Any ideas?

I was thinking that too but this one only has one star in the cloud circle above the eagles head.

I agree with nuphoria. Probably just easier to manufacture the seal like that vs. making 13 little stars. Just my $0.02

Is it one star, or is it the blue field the stars go on?

In the US a star traditionally has 5 points, whereas the one you have has six. I have to wonder if it's a star at all, or the blue field where the stars are, but perhaps they are too small to be rendered on such a small seal?

Admittedly though I'm not up on US government seals so I could be wrong.

Yes it is the great seal. I agree with def on this. The star is actually 6 sided similar to the blue field above.

Definitely simplified, since there aren't 13 leaves or 13 arrows either.

Actually, the original Star in question did have six (6) points. Rather than place my spin on this I will just post the link and let you read what I just read and reach your own conclusions:

Of course, that still doesn't fully explain the shield on the knife and the lack of 13 stars within the 6 pointed star. Perhaps it was just a very lazy engraver who designed the shield for this particular knife? We may never know for sure?

Well there are 13 strips in the eagles chest plate. So I would say it is the great seal.
