Well my housemate broke the valve on my road bikes inner ::) So it needed replacing, this meant i had a useless piece of rubber hanging around, then i remembered various posts about putting inner tube around your torch to improve grip. So here's the result! It's amazing how much better it is to hold with it on, very impressed and happy :)

Roadie, the ruber might reduce the heat transfer from the tube body to your hand at to the surrounding air. The torch might get too hot on turbo mode.

The body doesn't really act as a heatsink only the head of the torch so i'm not bothered about that. I've run it on turbo for 20mins and not had the body warm up, the head yes but the body no :)

You'd be surprised how much heat is transferred into your hand (and circulation system) through the body of the L2D.  You won't feel the body warm up while you're holding it because your hand is pulling the heat away.  If you tried the same thing with a P2D (CR123) body instead of the L2D body, you would notice a drastic difference because the mass and surface area of that body can't sink the heat away like the larger L2D body can.
