I am in love with the Spyderco Captain. I have 3, a user, a pristine one and now...my new favourite, thanks to Jeff Forbush, a Cerakoted OD green/Black one.

Some may think its a useless blade, but it's not only the most useful blade, it's the most confortable handle I've ever held. Also, the rounded tip presents a very docile and non threatening knife.

Enough talk about why I love it, on to the photos!

Here is folded:

A comparison between a stock Captain and the CK'd one:

A while back I got a TTi coated and my stainless embassy pen too, the flashlight was like that already as were the EMT shears. I can pretty much do anything with this kit now:

Time to go on some tactical adventures with my ODrrific EDC kit

Hack on!

 :ahhh   I love all of Mr.Breeden's designs!!! But the black G10 and satin blade is a little boring, is good to see some new colors!! They'll make a great EDC!!

My Spyderco Captain is my favorite folder.  The blade shape is just so handy on the farm.  Lots of times where I want to cut something but not poke holes in it.

That is a sweet set of tools!  That Captain is especially cool!  I've never seen one before.  It's very similar to the Rock Lobster.  I've been wanting an RL for a long time, I love the narrow profile it has when closed, and the slightly swept sheepsfoot blade would be perfect for so many of the cutting jobs I do.  I also rarely need to poke a hole when I'm using my knife, and it would be much safer when I'm camping with my family and the like.  I am NOT, however, willing to pay the price of an RL.

Again, very awesome line-up!

I still want to see sharpie make cartridges so we can have a colour match barrel and cap. The embassy pen is PHAT but I need sharpie action. Hey where's the OD Skinth™ to carry all this kit?  :worthless:  :twak:

We gotta find some OD framed sunglasses now.

The easiest way...you know..is to order prescription and then get them cerakoted ;)

I haven't had time to engineer a Skinth yet! I have so many ideas to pack into one package.

Sharpened the Captain and wow, what a challenge!

I had to get through the Cerakote first which took an extra 15 mins per side, then the recurve def challenged my sharpening skills. I had to use the corner of the Lansky hones on the system to put back an edge on it. I finished off with a ceramic triangle hone.

The bulb tip was easy, as it sharpens like any conventional blade. I was giving a tip to treat the blade as two SEPARATE blades to get the best result.

Shaves paper like a pro now!

Less work to get it Cerakoted :)

I am going to get my modded Surge (with ST300 head) handles/chassis and a Spyderco Breeden Rescue knife in Orange.

I don't have any pics of the Rescue, but here's a Breeden Captain that I got done at the same time:

Armor for sure. I'll be sending some new projects to Jeff in the future, mostly acid green stuff. Some steelslingshots, parts from my Reaper project and some other tidbits.

Does the cerakote effect the sharpness of the blade?  I would think it would be a good idea to touch up the edge after cerakoting.

That spyderco is supposed to be an outdoor blade right?  I don't know if I like that funky blade shape, doesn't seem like it would baton well.  From an edc perspective I want something with stabbing capabilities if I'm forced into a defensive situation... something with a pointy tip

The Cerakote job looks absolutely awesome!

Nope, it's a coating and like any coating, the edge part of the blade is sharpened after the point. The Surge already has a pointy bit, i wanted something with a bit of a recurve to cut cord and other stuff, also roll cutting stuff with the bulb tip is much safer and less prone to snapping.
