I love to see chihuahuas at the dog park- at 110lbs my Daisy is usually one of the largest dogs there, but she deals with small dogs so much better than she does dogs her own size.  She's terribly competitive and dogs her size mean she has to put forth more energy to beat them, then they knock it up a step, then she responds... and so on and so on until it develops into a fight.

Small dogs like chihuahuas and dachshunds have no hope in Hades of dominating her since he head is larger than the entire dog and she relaxes a lot better around them.  Of course most of the time they are terrified of her since she could probably swallow them whole, but she's so gentle with them.

Thank you.  he is quite the character and once at a dog beach he befrended a mastif but their greeting wasnt mutual as Rocco couldnt quite reach to smell hello hahaha.  it was very great to see such a large dog so gentle with our little guy.

We have a golden retriever(water dog) but before we got him he was tormented and abused, and water was one of the things that was used. So he won't go into water unless his paws touch ground. Back at our old place there were coal mines, but they were back filled, yet the trails were all black. So soft to walk on! And I took him for a long walk one day and he was loving it, saw this puddle and decided to run threw it to find out half way threw it was about a foot deep, lol plop! Boy did he jump, he didn't like it, at first but it was in the 90's so he went back and ran threw it again to cool him down! Now the bad part, he's a golden, so tan, right, not any more! BLACK! From all the coal, and gritty, oh boy the wife was pissed, I gave him a bath and the bottom of the tub horrible, but the dog was clean! JR

There were two of them yesterday- the black one and a golden and the two of them were wallowing together until I managed to get my phone out, at which point they both decided it was time to run again.  After several attempts I finally managed to get a shot of one, mostly to tease my boss because he has a Golden Retriever, and this is the kind of thing he has to put up with.

Daisy is a rotti/shepherd and Eddie is a whippet/shepherd, so neither of them are that inclined to go in the water past the tops of their paws!

Some thing made my golden not feel to good, last night he had to go outside to go to the can, and this morning he barfed twice, and of course on the floor cause I couldn't get up fast enough due to my back, and now he's got the sad look on his face like he did something wrong, even though I'm not mad at him, but my back don't like him! Nice sleepy dog. :) One of my dogs seems to only sleep and eat. He doesn't even want to go to the bathroom anymore. Here he is...

Sorry to hear that.  Its always hard when they go.

On a different note, I found a small park area near my house that few other people seem to know about (part of a trail system no one seems to use) and I think it meets with Daisy's approval!

She never does this anywhere else, but she always does it here!
