Paying it forward...
on: April 26, 2012, 04:54:42 PM
Hi all.

I know it's not much, but I've decided to gift out my Rambler.  The scales are a little beat up, as it's been riding on my keys for about six months, but I really don't get much use out of it, and it only makes it harder for me to decide what to EDC.

So here's the deal.  I'll send it to any new member who's new to SAKs/MT.O (fewer than 500 posts) and who has four or fewer SAKs, and will post a pic of it on their keys (or in use) in an unusual location.  It doesn't have to be exotic or far away, but to be honest, that would impress me.  It can't be something like inside a computer case, a beer can, etc.  It has to be some where that a person can actually go, to work, visit, etc.

Also, please note that I am leaving my temporary job to go back home to California tomorrow, for good, and I also have a family event to attend, so starting tomorrow morning, I will be offline, and then off-grid in fact, until next Monday.  So please don't be put off by the fact I'll disappear for a few days over the weekend.  I'll be back on Monday evening and will decide then.

Very nice!

However, I bet there's only a handful of MTO'ers who have fewer than five SAKs...

 ;) :D

Hmmm... I guess I might qualify. I have 2 SAKs (a Tinker and an Explorer), and, at least for now, am under 500 posts. However, I feel a need to bow out. Both of these knives were generously donated to me, so I kind of already feel like I've been given a fair share.

Also, because I'm seriously considering a Midnite Manager.

But this is a great kindness you're doing. I kind of wish there was a way to find younger (and cash strapped) folks that we could donate tools to.

That sounds like a great idea.  Like a initiation thread. You do this and I will give you this. Very cool. Pics to come soon.

I would like to throw my name in the hat. I have 3 a recuirt, OH Trekker, and an electrician. All bought with the last month and a half after discovering this site. Very awesome gesture by the way.

Hi all...  I'm back now.  Back in California, and back with my family.

I've decided I'll give the Rambler to Lynn, since she has the fewest SAKs.

Lynn, PM me your address, and I'll get the Rambler in the mail to you ASAP.

No worries!

Some one asked me a while ago what I thought the greatest invention in history was... I told them; fire?  No.  The wheel?  No.  Writing?  No.

The greatest invention in the history of civilization is the Swiss Army Knife!!!   :D
