The Swiss Agriculture Department (Landwirtschaft) offers a special Victorinox Spartan for CHF 18.00 plus various shipping and handling charges. They will only accept a bank draft in Swiss Franks. The bank’s fee may very well be more then the cost of the knife.
The front scale is light blue with the Victorinox logo and an Edelweiss motif on the front (the Department also sells ladies’ scarves, men’s ties, aprons, table cloths, and table napkins with the same “Edelweisslook”). The obverse scale is white with German and French phrases that translate loosely as “Thank you (or Good Work!), Swiss farmers,” the motto of the Landwirtschaft. It also shows a plowed farm field in the shape of a (Swiss?) cross. Like all new cellidor 91 and 84mm SAK’s with corkscrew or reamer/awl on the reverse, it comes with a tiny hole for the stainless steel pin.
If anyone is interested in obtaining the knife, the web site can be reached at:
www.landwirtschaft.ch. This will take you to the Department’s home page. Stick with the German. Don’t click on the EN. Then click on Shop, then Image Artikel, scroll down until you see Sackmesser Edelweisslook, then Hinzufugen, then Warenkorb offnen, B-Post, Ausland. The Department will accept your order and email you back that you must mail them the cost in a bank check in CHF. They don’t accept PayPal or credit cards.
