I wish there were more food related multitiools... The Flair and some of the Juices were ideal.

My battered office chair has been developing... quirks lately. The Wave jumped into action today tighening all of the allen bolts with a little help from fridns extender and bit kit. The Executive's orange peeler was just used to pop off the bolt covers.

Today I traveled a bit to take a look at an used vehicle for my father. Everything was looking right to me but the knob that was controlling how hard the air conditioner blows air. It was standing funny and the air flow didn't seem to change when you turn it. The seller was trying to convince me it's all fine but I told him that I am concerned because this could be an easy and cheap fix if it's just the knob or could be an expensive thing to fix with parts hard to find. So I offered him to take the panel off and see what's behind. Sure enough the knob was snapped off the thing it was supposed to turn. There was a small piece of plastic left on the thingy but it was pretty recessed in. We needed something narrow but sturdy to grab and turn it and see what happens. I had my ST300 on me so ... :multi:
We managed to turn the thingy and the air conditioner started blowing harder. Meaning it only needed a new knob. So we shook hands and beginning of next week we'll go to get it. Leathermans rule  :hatsoff:

Exactly the type of situation MTs are for - random unforeseen uses.
The car is an 2004 Fiat Stilo Multi Wagon, 1.9 jtd 115 hp. Completely random purchase for us. We were looking for something on a budget, in decent shape, working AC and over 100hp. Needed mainly for short trips, 5-15 km and few times per year ~ 300km. This one seemed to be in the best shape in the given parameters. Time will tell how good I judged, but I guess everything in life is like that  :dunno:

We got it. It made about a 2 hour ride to my place and on the next day 4 hour drive to my hometown where my parents live. So far so good. As for the mileage - the engine still has most of it's power so it runs pretty good. And given it's twice the power of his previous one he seems to enjoy a flooring of the gas pedal here and there so I doubt it will get perfect mileage in the first few months  :D.
As mentioned the AC control unit had a knob broken. I bought the whole unit from a website that specializes in used original parts for about 25 usd. Initially I thought just to swap the whole thing but it turned out I need to take the CD off to get to 2 screws so I just swapped few parts on it as it was on the dashboard. Used the small flathead on the Rebar for gently prying some plastics out and the philips to do the actual job. It worked like a charm. Then used the serrated edge to take an Osram lightbulb out of the plastic casing as we had a headlight go out. The car (with that engine and all the extras) has no space behind the headlight fixture so changing a bulb is a challenge. A quick online search showed that Fiat does it by taking off the bumper and charges about 100 $. But owners that are handy enough and not willing to pay that take the plastic arch cover that is over the wheel off and do the job from there. It worked but it's not fun at all, it takes time and for sure isn't something I'd like to do in the night on the side of the road. So from now, when picking a new car, user friendly headlights will be added to the checklist.

The first loaded AAA was getting stuck in this torch, the positive contact was getting wedged in the end of the spring. So cracked it open and the Squirt PS crimped the end of the spring to stop it happening again.

Today me and a friend went to the river to have some fun with the local bleak fish, a small creature that isn't really cautious therefore quite fun to catch. Forgot my good hook remover and those little buggers are greedy. So I used the pliers on the Wave few times to get hooks out. Then I decided I don't want to mess it with fish slime because I'd have to clean and oil it later. So I carved a piece of willow tree into a hook remover and went on. It worked decently.

As mentioned the AC control unit had a knob broken. I bought the whole unit from a website that specializes in used original parts for about 25 usd. The car (with that engine and all the extras) has no space behind the headlight fixture so changing a bulb is a challenge. A quick online search showed that Fiat does it by taking off the bumper and charges about 100 $. But owners that are handy enough and not willing to pay that take the plastic arch cover that is over the wheel off and do the job from there. It worked but it's not fun at all, it takes time and for sure isn't something I'd like to do in the night on the side of the road. So from now, when picking a new car, user friendly headlights will be added to the checklist.

Yup. Bulb change on a Stilo is a nightmare.
Multijet is good diesel engine and does shift the relatively light body nicely!
Great use of the multitool also!

Did a another thing with my Tread! Recycled a disposable face mask ear band. Took a small piece and cut em into two. Pulled and burnt the ends then pinched together with my P4 . Here's my little clan . Hope everyone enjoys the idea mahalo gangy!

New chair arrived today, so the the Wave kit tackled assembly and disassembly of the old knackered one. The blade and driver came in handy, but man was my hand feeling it at the end! Bonus shot of the light module from my O'Pen coming in surprisingly useful.

I used my Bond (with Rebar saw mod) to repurpose a piece of fence board for use as a couple of garden stakes. The Rebar saw obviously proved essential in this operation.
