It sure looks fake.  The magnifier looks to be metal and the fit and finish of the tool look wrong.  Someone put vic scales on a fake probably.

Yea, That's just all wrong. I have seen a few knock-off's over the past couple months showing up on ebay and amazon. Sad...

When something - not China made - is shipped from China, I begin with the presupposition that it has at least 50% possibility to be fake. If you add that, on its picture, it also looks fake (never saw a metal-framed magnifying glass on a vic...) and it is much cheaper than it should... I wouldn't buy it.

"This is a copy, down to the silver-color box labeled Victorinox, with Made in
Switzerland on the bottom, and the photographically-reproduced color
manual inside (in nine languages), but each tool betrays its ersatz nature.
The smallest one is the most glaring: the head of the tweezers is white, not
the Victorinox gray."
This from The SAK Owner's Manual - but describing the chinese fake Rescue Tool.
Yes, the "deluxe floding Victorinox" (w/white tweezer-head) is also a fake.

I never saw the Victorinox name used before, except on the rescue tool.

The canopener and the bottleopener doesn't overlap eachother the way they should either. they barely touch eachother.

Wrong mini-screwdriver in the corkscrew, the awl looks suspicious, but it's hard to see from the pictures, also the small back-mounted flat driver seems to have the wrong shape. Also notice the saw, I think it's the... useless kind. I think holding the knife, it would hard to claim it was a Vic. Lots and lots of details that are harder to see in the pictures, especially the pictures the seller has chosen...   :twak:

Fit and finish on the T&T and glasses driver are poor. The liners have something odd to them, I can't quite say what though. Proportion on the small blade is short. Plus what others have mentioned.

Sure looks fake to me.  The large blade should have a stamp of "some" kind on either side of it.  The mini-screwdriver looks thin and cheap too.  Actually...whole thing looks thin and cheap.

You know...if you report these auctions to Victorinox, they will have them removed and also have ebay issue a warning to the seller and put a black mark on the seller's account.  After a few of these marks, the seller's account is deleted.

I know this because I used to sell used SAKs on ebay.  One day, I had one of my auctions deleted and my account put in warning.  I called ebay to find out what the smurf was going on and apparently, "Swiss Army Knife" is a copyrighted name of Victorinox's.  Who'da thunk it.

I contacted Victorinox, apologized for my ignorance and learned the correct phrasing for my auctions that met with their approval.
