Does anyone know how thick the cadet plus is.

Thanks
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

I have a Cadet II Plus, also called "Micro-Farmer", SwissBianco run, which is the same as the Cadet Plus except that has a small spear point blade in lieu of the nail file. I will post a few photos in a few mins to show it. It is quite thin and compact, the scales are not thicker than on the 58 mm alox, etc. It's thinner than a Recruit even!

Thanks for taking the time to post pictures marius, looks a great knife, do you use it.

ICFT thanks for that,i idid look on sakwiki but must have completely missed the relevant info somehow.

The reason I ask is I have had a +B lumberjack arrive today thanks to zag.
Which I was planning on carrying everyday. But I want to be sure it's the right knife for me over the cadet plus. Because once I put wear on it I can't take it back.

The benefit of the lumberjack is it is a layer thinner but at the cost of a file  (really not bothered about) and the 3mm screwdriver as It has the combi opener over the dedicated cap lifter and can opener.

It is a question of which I value more the compactness of the lumberjack or the 3 mm driver of the cadet plus, and I really can't make my mind up.

Help me I only have another fifty years left to live and it is not healthy for a grown man to spend so much time thinking about tools and knives. Especially As its eating into the time I should spend thinking about women, beer, football and who would win a fight between chuck Norris and a velociraptor.

Spot on :D

To me this Cadet II Plus looks right for daily carrying and is definitely compact. I am not EDC-ing it because I have other favorites for that, but if only I had this SAK it would be sufficient I imagine.

Personally, between the Lumberjack and Cadet Plus, I would prefer the Lumberjack for EDC. The Cadet II Plus wins for me because of the small blade. Unfortunately (or fortunately) Cadet II Plus may be the hardest to find.

If I'd were in your place I'd first wait to see how I like that Lumberjack once I'd receive it.

I know what you mean about the small blade. For all the years I carried a 91mm Sak the small blade was the most used tool by far.

I carried my farmer for a very short while until I found myself recently in B&Q trying to hack through nylon strapping (trying to liberate a couple of lengths of prepared from a bundle) with my car key as there was a lot of people walking about and I did not feel comfortable pulling out the large (only) blade on the farmer.

I think the blade on the lumberjack is a nice size, not to big so I don't think this would be an issue.

I have decided to go with lumberjack, stuck it on a p7 suspension clip and in my pocket and it is like it is not there.
