Newbie from the Netherlands
on: June 29, 2012, 04:03:12 PM
I'm from  the Netherlands en i use Multitools for my hobbies and for my work.
It all started with my first Victorinox that i got from my dad, when we were on vacation in Switzerland.
Now I owe a bunch of leathermans and SAK's.
For my Work as a Firefighter I carry a victorinox RT and a Leatherman Surge in my turnout gear, as well as some firefighter specific tools.

Thanks for havin'me on your forum and
Hope to learn a lot from you guys

Hi, and welcome. So is the halligan tool a personal tool at your work, or you have several in the fire engine?

The Halligan tool is on the truck, not a personal tool.
But i think you agree that this is the mother of all MT's

It surely is. Still in our country we have it in very limited numbers (so limited that I can say we almost don't have the halligan at all). Do you know what type of steel is used to make this tool? I'm very curious to how it is produced also, because it is really a very useful tool and I've been thinking about makin one myself for ages, but still havent started the research yet.

@fenofedd:  I haven't got a clue what type of steel they use. but i could check.
In the netherlands we only started to use the halligan for a couple of years.
