Hello, from Maryland!
on: June 22, 2012, 05:09:22 AM
Hello everyone. I'm actually not a big collector of multi tools, I think I've got about 10 or 12 different models that I've been stashing away since the mid to late 90s. (my fav being my schrade, the one I actually use.)

Well, I haven't added anything to my collection in years. A friend came over today to drop off a power tool I loaned him and I happen to look down on the floor of his passanger seat and I spy a multi tool without a case, one that I've never seen before.

Long story short, I asked him if he'd like to sell it. He said, "sure, what'll you give me?" I said 20 okay? He said, "sounds good. "

So I go into the house, clean the dirt off this beautiful vise grip style tool by Kershaw and plan to research it on the internet. Low and behold, I find out that this little gem is quite collectable! lol  Turns out to be an A100 in great shape, just some slight wear on the phillips head.

Poor Bill!!   Maybe I should call him and let him know.

Hey there!

As Airballrad said,  there are a few MD'ers here.  I'm in Northern  Baltimore County.  Like you, I have a Schrade (actually the Sears Craftsman version) and a Kershaw A100.  I actually took my Kershaw to Peru for a mountaineering trip a few years ago.  It's an awesome tool.

We're gonna have to have a Maryland meetup and Crab feed....

I grew up in Baltimore and not a day goes by I don't miss something about it.  I'm in FL now and I tell you the seafood and crabcakes are basically crap.  If you want a good crabcake, goto MD  :D

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone. That Maryland meet up and crab grab sounds like a good idea!
My interest in collecting multi tools is once again ignited with this latest acquisition of the A100. (I just need to find a sheath for it.) I think I'll start hitting some yard sales again on the weekends this summer.

The shrade I love so much is the one pictured below, except mine has the leather sheath. I remember getting them with the leather sheath in the sporting goods section at K-mart back in the mid 90s for $37.95. ( they were sold in the sealed plastic package)   I wish I had bought and kept a few examples unopened. lol

I'd love to find an example of the one pictured on the bottom!!!

EDIT...PS:  I'm in Hagerstown by the way.
