PPP gear covers ?
on: June 29, 2012, 09:26:12 AM
So why dont sog fit them ? Ive been enjoying using my ppp for work now for a few weeks and love it,the gears dont bother my hands too much but i can see that covers would be a improvement, yes i could find a PT 510 (not see easy in the uk) but i cant see why sog havnt fitted them to newer models like on the powerlock,   any ideas  :D   :tu:

Bloody good question!

I think the SOG tools would have more fans if they did use them.

When I carried mine, I would use it in the open position, so my hand wouldn't have to be on the gears. Those gears could be some kind of torture device. I bet when I get to hell, there will be a pile of lumber, pile of Phillips screws, and a SOG Multitool with no gear covers, and I will be told I can leave when I finish building a house.

If the PPP had gear covers there is a chance I'd still own one. ;)

I owned an original powerlock with no covers and a later edition with the covers, and it for sure makes a big difference.

as having the powerlock now with covers i can vouch as well that they make a difference and i think sog should add these to there ppp, on another note i leant my ppp to a guy helping me out last week and he has a blood blister on his hand from the gears, ive not had this problem other than discomfort,
