Was at the store earlier and saw this on clearance, and it looks pretty neat, so I thought oh hell why not.
Been playing with it and like it so far. It has both white and red LED, 52 and 7 lumens according to package, and is powered by 3xAAA batteries.
What really caught my attention is how many ways you can wear it. The spring clip can clip to your hat, shirt, pocket, belt or whatever you can think of, you can put it on any flat surface and aim the head (which pivot 90°). It can also be used with the included adapter and strap as headlamp, although I won't be using it as such since I have much better headlamps.
It's not all that bright, and there is no reflector/optics to collimate the light, so it's strictly closeup only, but I guess that's what it's intended to do so no problem there.
Amazon reviews say the battery cap tend to fall off, so far it stays on fine, I'll see how it goes in long term.
