Hello from Pennsylvania, USA.

I've been a member of another knife forum for about 15 years or more. I'm 42 years old, and ex-military. I fell in love with SAKs after badly breaking my leg in a skiing mishap in 2010. I was in convalescence, and a lot of pain. I couldn't work for a few months. While I healed, I spent time browsing the web, and especially the knife forums. I bought an '08 Soldier, the last year they were issued. Seemed fitting for a broken soldier. I've had a ton of knives, but have recently become more pragmatic. My hunting/survival knife is a Mora 546g. And most EDCs are SAKs, because they're so damn useful. Vic Alox models are a work of art, to me anyway. I've had high-end knives, Sebenzas, a few customs, etc, but for all their glory, they just don't do it for me. I found this forum from another well-established forum because someone had a Soldier with scissors, and the modder resides here.

Nice introduction. The thing that drew me to alox is the bigger main blade and tools than on the standard SAK. And the awl, I love that awl. There are quite a few modders around here. You can check this thread for some
worthy mods.

I also prefer a Mora for the woods, but my choice is the Mora Clipper. Nice sheath there on yours, did you make it?
And great to see pics of your gear, we love pics around here

Hey welcome! SAKs and MORAs are my favorite too.
When Ray Mears was selling a green run of the Mora 510 I snapped up alot of those, and I love them for neck knives in a kydex sheath with firesteel.
PM me or email sakmodder [at] gmail . com if you are looking for custom SAK work.
