Who EDCs their rare/hard to find SAKs?

I don't have enough money to buy things that I don't plan to use. I don't mind spending some money on a good knife, but if I do I will use it and get my money's worth.

Personally I use all my SAKs and I'm carrying a 84mm Golfer right now, not super rare I know, but a pain to replace if I lost it.  However I do understand the collectors out there; what's the point in using an Ambassador with super rare graphics when a standard one will do the job just as well.

That's because, right now, I can't afford to collect rare / expensive items and thankfully I don't find pleasure on "how rare" is something, I just like it or not. But I can't imagine, for example, buying a Damascus Climber or a custom hard anodized red alox "climber" and keep it anywhere else than in my pocket.

I'm not much of a collector, but the only SAKS/MTs I own that I dont use are a set of pioneers I have.  I was collecting one in each stock color, and they are just for looks really, so I want them to stay unchipped.  Everything else gets used, or else how can you have an opinion about a tool if you dont use it?  I do have 2 spirit x's, but the new one is really just a 'backup' since I got it for a good price, it hasnt been used yet, but is in line to.

I've recently had to sell most of my rare/hard to find Alox due to money problems
I do have a few on EDC rotation though...old cross red pioneer with an 85 soldier blade, mint old cross red farmer, blue farmer...also have a BNIB black pioneer with BO tools that I will get around to carrying someday

Sure you can!  I plan on being buried holding my Alox Soldier, in case I wake up in the casket, I can cut my way out!  Also, I figure it will give future archaeologists something to scratch their heads over, wondering why someone was buried clutching an all-metal pocketknife.  Plus, it'll be an extreme test of the sturdiness of the Alox and stainless steels!

BTW, I love using my SwissBianco Yeoman, for all the handy tools on it.  Can't do that if it's locked away somewhere.

I have a pretty large collection, so EDCing everything would be almost impossible. I have at least one of almost every model Victorinox made in 84mm, 91mm, and 93mm, including a lot of rare stuff. 

I've found that I have little interest in carrying any of the rare stuff, however. Not because it's "collectible", but because the Compact is the perfect EDC knife for me. I carry that around 90% of the time. Sometimes I think a Golfer or Voyageur would be better, but I use the pen way too much.

I have a blue Farmer that has been in EDC rotation on the farm for years.  It's got some awesome wear patterns on it.  DEFINITELY not minty fresh.  (NB: I have a NIB one too... )

I don't abuse them, but yep, I use them all, 'specialy the special ones.
Some far more then others, but if one of my SAK's never sees pockettime, I will eventualy trade it.

I agree the rare ones are to be treasured. The EDC ones are are easily replaceable.
