What grit is that?

Do I have to use sand paper?

Would you say the results are almost new scale condition or quite average? What about using all three polishes and no sand paper?

Is there a difference between the links I gave?

Thank you.

Novus will not get rid of deep scratches, only sandpaper. All the Novus are the same product. Novus 1 is windex if you ask me. Novus 3 is just a coarser 2. I use 2500 sandpaper which is finer than Novus 3 I would guess.

Sand paper won't take away the victorinox logo will it?

This is a very old knife(I think the logo is nickel as its got a gold color to it).

Any sandpaper or polish will remove it, if you do it long enough.

Not a metal one, but I wiped out a painted on logo. The polish thinned it right out. The metal ones will survive some sandpaper. Use only enough to remove the scratches. I would practice on junk scales first.

I probably use Novus stuff as the scales I want to fix only have small dents/scratches.

Novus will only polish a smooth surface. If it is not smooth, the dents and scratches will remain and rest will be polished. If you want it to be 100% when done, all scratches and dents must be removed prior to the polish.

"One 2oz. Bottle of Novus #3 HEAVY SCRATCH REMOVER"

Does number 3 not take scratches away at all?

Novus is great for getting plastic sunglasses scratch free, however I don't think it would work in sak scales that good.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

I posted a thread about using it a while ago.  No 3 followed by Number 2 works really well.

No 1 does not really do anything at all.

Got it the other day. :)

I tried it on a cheap chinese sak. It did put a nice polish on it but the scratches still remain.

heardrwt seemed to remove the deep scratches.

I will try again later.

Polish will not remove deep scratches. You will need to use sandpaper to remove enough material so scale is level with bottom of the scratch, then use polish.

I use meguiars plastic polish for headlights, it works fine too.
