Nice Pics, nice light! Lummi rocks, as you say you have to have one in your had to understand. Rob makes great lights.

I had a play with his MIL prototype a while ago, CR123 anngle light with variable output/dimmer control via rotating the base. Can't wait for him to get that out on the market.

I'll start with a pic of my Maglites. A Solitaire and a Mini Mag AA. I have a MiniMag AAA, too, but gave it to my dearest and he can't find it anymore  :twak:

I don't use them anymore, but they are reliable and rugged lights and were good companions for years. Just a little bit outdated now with their inascendent lights... I can't believe I used them for years when I look at them. They look almost like new.

This Peak LED Solutions #8 Eiger in stainless steel replaces a Peak 3-LED SS Matterhorn as my watch pocket light.   The Eiger is considerably brighter, whiter, and casts a much wider hot spot through its optic than the narrow 3-LED Matterhorn.   Both lights are built crazy tough.

I've read in some light forums that the E10 is not available in some countries in the Americas and Europe. Whatever Fenix's reason was, too bad they certainly lost a big quantity of people who loves simplicity. ;)

I have two words to describe the E10: simple and solid. Simple in a way that, it has only one mode, a pushbutton tailcap and uses an old emitter, the Luxeon Rebel, no match for the Crees :D. The body's as thick as the other Fenix's products but not too sure if it has the Type III HA.
I noticed that it can't tail stand and light adapters don't fit, and also has no pouch for edc. But at 23-25 USD,not bad compared to the LDs and PDs line.

The Luxeon Rebel can't match a Cree, but it's no slouch.  It's maybe 5% dimmer than a current XP-G.

The thing that's nice about the Rebel is the tint!  The tint of the Rebel falls somewhere between the "cool white" Crees and the "neutral" Crees.  I like to describe it as a "vanilla" white.

It is a shame about the E10 not going to all markets.  I think we the availability of simpler, durable lights like this.

Thanks for sharing Teofilo!

My now fully-modded-out Techlite Lumen Master.  The build quality on these flashlights is actually quite good, but the electronics are... difficult, to say the last.  They also (stock) used a battery holder with 3AAAs.

Anyways, found a tub of the things at a local discount store, got two of them for $5 each as well as one of those $2 9-led specials.  Turns out there are 4 different versions of the Techlite, one that uses an XR-E, one that uses a XP-E, and two versions that use an XP-C emitter.  Anyways, I ripped out the tailcap switch and tailcap from one with an XP-C emitter, and modded the switch from the cheap 9-led special in to it.  I also modified the existing smart clicky from the one with the XP-C emitter, removing a large spacer and making a spacer out of some high melting point plastic and using of the springs from the battery holder to make a low profile spring for the tailcap. I also did the same thing (spacer + spring from battery compartment) for the positive connection terminal as well, and made a battery spacer out of a tape-wrapped cardboard tube from a roll of paper towels.  After having done all this I gained about 7MM of space in the battery tube, *just* enough to fit an 18650 battery inside without fear of crushing it.

Practical upshot, for ~$13 I got a 160 lumen, XP-E 18650 flashlight with a choice of either a single mode-reverse clicky flashlight, or a 3-mode (50%/100%/strobe) with a momentary tactical override.  Changing the two is as easy as unscrewing and replacing the tailcaps.  Since I think the "smart" tailcap has a vampiric drain issue, I keep the single mode clicky installed for emergency use, but it takes 3 seconds to switch them over if I'm taking the light out somewhere.

Oh, and six new Duracell AAAs as well.

I never do things the easy way, if that weren't obvious already.

Cool.

If you can definitely get the XP-E model, it's worthwhile to get - the tailcap is quite easy to mod so you can fit an 18650 in to as well.

I picked up these two today.  Both power up by AA batteries.  The Lumapower I
got with the optional Teleforce head as well.  Also had a very nice visit with
"Gunga" whom I received the Lumapower package from.  Thanks Mike. :)
