Oh, and I maybe, sorta, possibly, in some cases, go overboard on buying spares to my spares of stuff I like....  :D

...that might be true as well :D

I should have posted these here....

My Gerber Ultras.

I have multiples of Gerber Ultras also.  1 each white and red in each of 3 bugout bags in the family.  I also have a CMG ultra-g that I keep handy for a task light.

So.... both are 1xAA, both have tons of modes and cool features... I can't say which one I like more, but I think the 4Sevens is far more "carriable" because of its size.

Yeah the 4Sevens are often very close to the size of the battery they use. Very compact and tons of features.

Those are neat little lights. Do they have different color beams? Oh, I should have read through. Yeah they came in red, too. Very cool. Too bad they are not still made.

You should've, they look cool :D But why so many lights of the same type?

Years ago, they (the Ultra M's- milspec) were arguably the best you could get so I bought several and put them in my trouble/gear/camping/packs and later bought backups to those.  Really simple lights, one intensity, waterproof, screw tailcap switch with about a 70 hour runtime. Very simple, durable lights but pretty low output. I call them "personal lights" because for doing simple tasks in the dark like around the house/campsite, they are great. Also, 3 of those are red LEDs that I use when looking at the stars.

Oh, and I maybe, sorta, possibly, in some cases, go overboard on buying spares to my spares of stuff I like....  :D

Well, perhaps just a little.  ;)  I know it's an old design now but I do think there's still a place for the Infinity Ultra.

Search "Gerber Infinity Ultra" on eBay or Amazon....I think they are still on the Gerber site as well. 16-22 bucks......

It started out back in about 2004, during my Maglite-buying craze:

Back then, all I had were incandescent lights. LED's weren't really as well-made, or as easy to find, back then (and high-powered LEDs were non-existent); so, options were severely limited.

This was shot with a Canon A70 (my first decent digital camera. Before that, I had this Kodak DC150...? (horrible resolution. That was my first digital camera, so this A70 was a huge and long-overdue step up for me, and that's when I started going crazy, taking pictures :)

Back in about March of 2013, I had these seventeen lights, twelve of which were LED lights:

Shot with a Canon SX-1 IS. I've been using this camera since about January of 2010.

In July of that same year, I had these thirty-nine lights One is not pictured (I think it was a Pelican 2390). I'm fairly sure maybe only two out of the entire bunch, were incandescent. By this time, I had been using rechargeable batteries of one sort or another, in most of my lights. This is probably the highest quality picture I've ever taken of the full light collection - but it's sadly-outdated. Need to take a more recent one, outdoors (the natural light really helps).

The front row were the EDC lights I carried, at the time.

At the time, I only had the one lonely SolarForce (The L2N, with the custom Erik Kress XM-L 7C 5-mode). I loved the light so much, I realized I was in trouble, then (sixfteen SolarForce lights later lol), and that I was about to fall all the way down the rabbit hole in Flashlight Land.

Since then, I've given away probably at least ten lights, as I found myself getting nicer (more specialized) stuff. I've been able to weed through a lot of lights, and really discover what I like the most in a light, and what I prefer not to buy.

In the past week or so, I picked up my 73rd light.  Below is the most recent picture, minus the most recent three purchases:

EagleTac MX25l3C (6 Nichia 219 - 1800 plus ANSI lumens - beautiful tint :-) )
Not pictured - Solarforce L2-D18 with Sportac triple XP-G2 R5 1-mode drop-in
Not pictured - Armytek Dobermann XP-L

I must be looking right past this - but, how do I edit one of my posts?  I realized, I forgot to post the most recent picture of the most recent picture of the collection.  I don't see the "Modify" icon in my previous post, so I could do the edit.

Thanks, in advance, for your help :D

Anyway, here is the most recent picture (minus the Armytek Dobermann XP-L, the Solarforce DE-18 (with triple Nichia XP-G2 R5 drop-pin), and the EagleTac MX25LC3 (which is actually pictured separately in my initial post).

Same as my avatar lol.  At the time, the only one missing from this picture, was a Fenix PD40, which I used (ceiling-bounced) to take this picture.

The Solarforces

This L2P (on the bottom) has a Sportac Triple Nichia 219 2-mode drop-in, which has a beautiful tint - very natural-looking.  Its' my most used of all of my Solarforce lights, and is the most heavily-used EDC lights.
17 lights, in all, with drop-ins, in various tints, from various makers (Malkoff, Customlites, EDC+, International Outdoors, Mountain Electronics, Sportac)
Not pictured - L2-D18 dual 18650 host with Sportac Triple XP-G2 R5 - 1 mode)

The Foursevens:

Here's a company a lot of people aren't too familiar with - other than in flashlight circles. They make a really fine product, and have (from what I've heard) stellar, U.S.-based customer service - although I've never had occasion to need customer service on either of these lights, to date.

I only have two of their lights, thus far:

Left: Maelstrom X10 (running on a 26650 lithium battery - looks a lot like a D cell.
Right: QB2L-X (a flexible light. Can run on 2 CR123s, 2 RCR123s, a 17650. I'm running it on two LiFEPO4 batteries, since I had to steal the 17650 out of it, to use in my newer EagleTac P20 C2 Mk II lol - at least until I get around to ordering more 17650 batteries, which run at 1500 mAh. 17650 batteries are like the low-calorie version of the 18650 batteries so many people use - slightly skinnier, but the same length.

They're both first generation lights, using the original Cree's XM-L emitter - very powerful, with nice focused center spot and generous spill beams. The XM-L is known for power, but because of the larger LED, it's not known for throw, unless you pair it up with a larger head, and a deeper reflector, which helps improve throw, greatly.

The X10 is like a handheld searchlight - impressive for its size; very robust build quality on both of these lights. The QB is (sort of) a smaller version of the X10.

A lot of FourSevens users seem to be really attached to the smaller Quark Series of lights, that are said to be extremely lego-able.

Another very popular set of lights comes from Preon Series (mainly AAA penlights that have become very popular among flashlight enthusiasts, for their tremendous build quality.
