Cadet plus plus. It's a Cadet with woodsaw and firesteel.

The first one is a silver Cadet with the woodsaw from a "My First Victorinox" and a firesteel from Mr. Fischlin.

The second one is made of a black Cadet Plus (aka Mini Farmer) from Special run from April 2011 and a firesteel from Mr. Fischlin.

Very nice  :salute:

Am I right in thinking that you can't actually use/strike the firesteel with the knife it's fastened to, or is there something I'm missing

Great!  Old school fire-striker knife ides reborn.  I think this is better than the 93mm version which tends to be just too big and heavy with the striker.

50ft-trad, it's a fire-striker on the back not a 'Firesteel' or Mischmetal fire-starter tool. The iron fire-striker predates this technology and is used to strike a flint rock, or a rock with a fair amount of flint contained in it to create sparks.

Ahhh gotcha  :tu: Thanks mate  :)

I have used the old flint and steel a few times (gimme a Clipper lighter anyday ) but didn't realise that's what this was  :salute:

Ya, this is a bit old school, and certainly with mischmetal firesteel rods, WP matches, and lighters, maybe not the best fire starter option.  Still I like it, and like SAKs kind of keeps the old technology working its wonders.
