No.  But if you change the first plus it does.

4*(-5)+9= -11

Well... It appears to be wrong unless you look at it like 4(-5)-9=11 and I can't figure out what they are doing with the extra +.

to put the - on 11?  It was a problem I saw on a board as I walked by.
