The body is 2-3oz. Veg. tan over plastic tubing , the end flaps are chap leather ( almost impervious to moisture . The brus is loded in , and shaken out handle first .

Looks nice!   :tu:  My wife got me a badger brush several years ago, and it has outlasted all of the cheap ones I've ever had, combined.

I have to say, though, that I've never tried to take it on any traveling with me though... great thinking!   :tu:

Once you use a good quality Badger , the Boar bristle brushes feel like smurf .

In the next little while , I'm going to buy a few pre-made knots , and turn a few handles on a Buddy's lathe . Apparently , if you give them enuff time to dry between uses , they last a lot longer .

I've found that even with cheap brushes, hanging them handle up so they can dry properly between uses greatly increases their longevity.  It also allows them to go back to their natural shape as well.  My one and only gripe about the one I have is that it has the traditional shape; looks a bit like a mushroom when dry and tail standing.  I'd love one with more taper in it, to allow finer placement of soap in some areas.  I recently did the "Klingon", and shaved my mustache off, but only directly over my upper lip; I left the rest of the sides that aren't over my mouth.  Getting lather in there and at other points in my goatee is a purely brute force method with the brush I have now.  Something thinner and more tapered would be a welcome change for me.

Knots come in a variety of sizes , 16mm , 20mm, and 22mm. Simple deal , drill hole of appropriate size , drill blank , shape to taste - then glue in knot .

A Dude stagenamed " Whippeddog " sells handles and knots , including some neat stoneware handles .

Was the bad badger too naughty to get a nice leather jacket? ;)

Very nice, and obviously very useful and practical too :tu:

BTW , I'm advised that these are strictly non endangered Chinese badgers , already being killed for food porposes . My eventual hope is a tame badger , who will stand on the hand basin and apply the lather with his paws .

One thing that will make you laff , there are now pleather strops . What next Pleather BDSM supplies , for kinky PETA types .

I have been looking into using a shaving brush but I'm not sure what to buy. Is this Badger brush good quality? I use Head Slick shaving cream and really like it. I use to shave my head and used that on my face and head with great success. Would the shaving brush be compatible with the Head Slick? I would assume that all I would have to do is squeeze what I need into a shaving soap cup and apply what I need. Thoughts? Ideas?

If only it were that simple.  :)

Honestly if you wan't to use a Badger Brush I would suggest using traditional creams or soaps.   Will a Badger Brush work if you used it with canned gel or something of the sort? Yes I assume so. I am assuming "Head Slick" is a gel or similar. Please let me know if I am wrong. My memory is bad, but I believe I did it once (with gel) when I first started using a DE Razor. Here is a link if your interested. It's a bit of reading though.

Honestly I don't know were i'm going with this,  :drink:  ,but if you have any specific questions about brushes or razors there are a few people here that i'm sure would be glad to help, including myself.  :tu:

I really don't know what class you would put Head Slick in. The manufacturer calls it shaving cream. It comes in a squeeze dispenser bottle as seen HERE. I think I'll put the Badger in my Amazon "wish list" that I'm sending to my family this year for my Christmas gift ideas for me (I'm very difficult to shop for in that I buy EVERYTHING I want for myself)     :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Thanks for the idea and link for the reading Thanks Styerman for starting this thread and all who have posted their thoughts on this. My head is spinning atm about all this info!¡!  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh
