Done. I never noticed the micro address. Go figure.

Well an update. The seller wanted me to send it back with tracking and proof before she was willing to give me a refund. I decided that I will keep it as a spare due to bad weather, lack of time, etc. So that was a wash. I still need to find me a new Surge.

Did you use paypal?

That's not how a dispute is handled. File the dispute though paypal, you will receive FULL credit refunded through PayPal before shipping it back.

Unless you don't mind being ripped off for an expensive tool you didn't want. I would be raising hell just on the principle of her false advertising.

That sounds like what I would do.  The problem is, you get zero satisfaction, because you don't have the tool you want and you won't leave negative feedback because she was willing to work with you.

I'm sort of with Superfreak on this.  Of course, I'm an ugly American, not a considerate Canadian so etiquette may be different in the north.  ;)

Oh, and btw, Paypal does make these things right, and fairly quickly, but you have to jump through their hoops.

That really blows, Chako.  I bought mine [BO version] from Moontrail and they did the same thing.  However, they totally took care of me.  That is, sent the new one out *with* postage to send the old one back and apologized.  I had no problem with that - seeing as it is a new version of an existing tool, etc.  AND I had to have it the day they received them.   >:D  Oy.

Anyway, I don't know if Moontrail has the new one still.  At the time they only had the BO version.

Good luck - whichever way you go.  I've not hesitated to go through Paypal resolution on the few transactions I've had similar to yours.  Generally it gets the other party's attention and it gets resolved positively.

Actually, Moontrail's got both:

http://www.moontrail.com/b_search.php?mode=search&page=1

Each for $99.85.  They are the 3rd and 4th items down from the top.  Not the single greatest price - but not gouging.  Plus free shipping, but don't know if that includes Canada.

Don't work for them, just sharing experience.  Hope this helps.   :D

Yes, I left her a good rating because she was willing to work with me...and I can honestly see how such a mistake could easily be made. I couldn't fault here communication either.

Moontrail used to be one of my go to places to acquire Leathermans...however they won't sell to pesky foreigners anymore. It would appear that Leatherman is now cracking on US sellers who sell outside of the US. The main issue here, I have no clue who the Canadian dealer is, and from what I have found, the selection is fairly limited at best. Makes collecting Leathermans and being a Canadian a lot tougher than it used to be.

Yeah; I don't get that at all.  Our friendly neighbors to the north.  You see sellers on eBay a lot of the time who won't sell to - say - Italy.  That I understand - not so much because I think Italians have it backwards or anything -- but they did used to burn mail that they just couldn't get delivered.  And so on - a lot of sellers list varying countries that are a 'no-go'.

Canadia - what is the problem with Canadia, LM?!  Why would you want to curb your market that way?  ??? ::)

Anyway, wish you luck, Chako.  Wish I could help, but - nada.

Chako -- I'm planning another trip to the LM retail store next week. Let me know if you'd like me to grab a SS Surge for you while I'm there.

That sounds like an excellent plan Matt. Yes, if you could, I would love to score the new Stainless Surge if possible. I just noted a Piranha 2. Is that available at the store? If so...can you pick me up one as well as any black pocket tools (I do have the Hail and PS in black). Many thanks.

It happens... most sellers aren't enthusiasts. They may not have a camera and grabbed an available stock image. Assuming the seller fixes it, I would be disappointed but not angry. If they make it right then go easy on the feedback. Mistakes happen

Those were not stock photos. I won the new Surge...but she shipped me an old one, and someone else got the new version. You are correct. She didn't know there was a difference. I gave her excellent ratings simply because of the communication we had back and forth. That and I can see how it would be easy to do. So now I have an extra new Surge and quite possibly a friend who will get me one soon...so things are looking up.  :tu:
