made a yeoman, enter for cell phone pic goodness
on: September 24, 2012, 04:45:38 AM

I have wanted one for a while but thought i might as well make one.

got a champion plus on ebay for $12 by mistake and it's way too thick for me and had a bantam for combo tool.

I was thinking about doing the mod using bottle opener as combo tool like that thread but decided against it.

i have plenty of parts let over for a new project....

the nice thing about using a thick sak for donor is you can reuse pins!

edit:  you may notice i made this with the small knife spacer instead of the bantam spacer with the key chain attachment.

while i appreciate a good lanyard, i found the attachment ring dug into the hand while using the knife....

Oh did you use a combo from an 84mm sak?  Does it work ok?  When I tried to use on on a 93mm sak it sat too low.

Would that be this pic perhaps?

That's from my Scientist that I made up a few years back, not ideal perhaps but I've never had an issue getting the combo tool out. :)

Nice job on the Yeoman WiSAKfan. :tu:

Ah gotcha.  :tu: It's worse on the 93mm size, and it also doesn't compress the spring enough so the blade ends up losing snap and the spring doesn't sit flush on the back of the SAK.

Not needing scissors very much...  I had the same dilemma, but scissors almost always come in handy everday. One thing I would always have on any SAK.

i haven't been around long but i do know there is scissors cult here

I apologize if i have offended any sensibilities with my scissors heresy

like i said i'm trying to actively use them more

i also was thinking of a saw and metal file instead of the scissors but that would have made it a four layer...

If it's not to your liking don't worry - I don't exactly remember who, but there are people here who don't like it either  :tu: Good choice on the three layer though, perfect size for pocket carry. Plus for urban everday tasks, those two wouldn't see much use. For me at least  :D
