It that a woodcarving tool or a Hoof knife? Seems more plausible to me since it is made for pocket carry.

Edit: It's probably a Timberscribe. If you Google image that you will see some made by other manufacturers.

Here's a page that explains how a Timberscribe is used - Link - basically an old-timey equiavent of a Sharpie used to mark wooden things like shipping crates and stakes.

Thank you! You're right it could be a Timber Scribe. I think I have some old Vic docs I can look it up in and see if they have anything other than a number for it. I had not got to that stage yet.

Now I'm more curious about another Victoria tool I got that I thought was for carving, but it didn't see to match tools used in North America. Maybe it has a different purpose, I'll post pictures of it hopefully today or tomorrow.

Seems very similar to Victoria Model 280 or 282. The frame measures about 113mm on this one.

I see this current Timber Sribe is nearly the same as well:

Thanks for that offcial AN and German name; makes sense... I'm surprised they still apparantly have this available from a few sellers.

Yes that is the consensus here as well, and it is definitive since we have the catalog entry and AN for the latest version.
