We'll miss you, Gary Gygax

Personally, I'm kind of a geek. I got into Dungeons and Dragons for a while. Well, I just heard that it's creator, E. Gary Gygax died yesterday. He was a pioneer and revolutionized the entire RPG genre of gaming.

Sir, you will be missed.

i have a soft spot for gygax as i was a huge D&D fan back in the day.  I wikipedia'd him and was amazed at how many classic modules he wrote!

I'd like to know how many hours I "wasted" as a Wizard checking out dungeons. :D

Funny thing is, I found and fought Beholders, Djinn, Beserkers and ten thousand different varieties of meanies, got killed more times than I can count (oddly, only my spellcaster emerged unscathed) and never ONCE found a FEMALE down there! :o

I can imagine Gary up there behind a Dungeonmaster's Tome trying to explain to JRR  Tolkien how to roll a 20-sided die....

Wow... this brings back memories. I wasn't that into D&D but did play it sometimes. I remember being a Dungeon Master was uber-cool; like being God.  ::) :)

I was never into D&D, but I can appreciate what his creation spawned, like computer RPGs.

It sounds like he enjoyed life...I read on another forum that he even hosted games at his house up until January.

I was kind wondering if the invasive world of Pen & Paper RPGs would get so far as multitool.org

now I know.

Leatherman Core.

+2 to all Repair, Lockpick, & Craft skill checks.

Man, that would have killed in highschool.
(of course, back in high school we didn't have Skill checks.
Non-weapon proficiencies eh)
