::) ::) ::) , above our fridge there is a small cup board that includes beer bottle holders , kids medicine, matches , lighters & lots of crap + a awful lot of SAKs & MTs that are in my EDC rotation.
I had looked through the well organised wears/mountain of mess at least 4 times specifically looking for the Kiwi to no avail  :ahhh :ahhh. Last night my youngest had a temperature , woke up sweating up a storm & I tried to find a thermometer. I could not find the thermometer but found the Kiwi  8) & Jack woke up fine this morning so double  8) 8) 8) :D :D.

So I just need to find my Tank 007 torch + my missing Opinel  & all will be well  ::) :D :D

I lost my Buck FDX Rescue Tool, or so I thought. Our son (and his girl friend) has come upon so hard times (lay-offs) and can no longer afford the rent where he is at. So we decided he could move back home although he must pay us some rent to live here. Any how I was moving things when I could not find my FDX. It was not where it had been displayed. The thoughts in my mind started racing where had I put the FDX. Of course the bad dark thoughts, had a relatives child picked it up thinking it would be cool to take to school and show friends. And then thinking back, we had to have the satellite television guy do a repair. When he had been here the FDX had been display on top of the tv stand. I am the type of person who displays some of my collectables, I want every one to be able to enjoy them. I tend to trust people maybe more than I should. Well we have been rearranging furniture and cleaning for 2 weeks and no FDX. We also did a inventory on collectables still no FDX. I had pretty much given up on finding it. Then today I was putting some collectables from a box into a drawer where they would hopefully be safe and there in the bottom of a box that I had looked in 3 times was my FDX. I am happy to know I can still trust people. But I can not trust myself.  :o

Here is a picture of my Buck Knives FDX Rescue Tool
It was signed by CJ Buck. When he signed it he said "this is the first FDX I have signed", so I had him put a #1 on it with his autograph.

I could start calling you names and taking the mick, but I've done exactly the same thing myself all to often. :-\  Most recently with my CRKT Edgie.  Knew exactly where I had put it (in a desk tidy at work), went to get it and it just wasn't there, I'd have sworn to it.  Thinking I must have taken it home I ended up turning out all my various kit boxes and drawers looking for it, nothing, it must have gone walkabout without me.  Back to work and there it was, exactly where I thought it was all the time. ::)

I've lost my first knife I've ever had as a kid, but I've told the story a couple of times already. The last tool I "lost" was a Sanrenmu 707 last year. I couldn't find it for over 6 months and I looked everywhere. Then winter came and I pulled my winter coat out of the closet. It was sitting in the coat pocket the whole time. :D
The one I will never understand is a pair of pliers I lost inside my car some 6 years ago. I bought a new radio and was installing it and needed pliers for those little tabs. When I was done the pliers were gone. I checked under/in the seats, on the floor, under the car, even took the radio out to check there. Nothing. Never found them. And I never will as the car will be sold in a few days. But it still bugs me. :ahhh

Make sure you charge them extra for the 'concealed' tool kit. ;)

I'm with you, just had my SOG Flash I disappear from my jeans pocket on Saturday while running errands with the family. Although, I don't think I'll be replacing it with a new one. It was a great knife and I really liked it, but I am looking more at the Griptilians now, thinking that may be my next move.

I just found my long-lost C33!
It's been sitting underneath the seat of my truck for almost 11 months...and I looked there.
I'm so happy now!

I've lost just two multitools, a Leatherman Squirt P4 and a Gerber Clutch.  I mainly use and carry small, key chain tools like the Dime and Crosscut that are (and here's the excuse) smaller and easier to mislay.  However, if you expanded the list from mutitools to include pocket knives, you'd know why I'm increasingly moving towards to good cheaper brands that I can afford to replace.

Okay, long time lurker on the MTO forums.  I've lost several tools including several key ring style Multitools. But, over the years I've found lots of lost tools.  You may recognize something you lost on my blog.

Good to "meet" another roadside tool collector and surprised to see a blog devoted to the subject.

One of my hobbies used to be metal detecting, an activity which "trained" me to pay attention to details on the ground while walking. My wife and I found lots of buried coins and jewelry, but also a good number of items laying on top of the ground.

I am also an avid walker, walking about 2 miles/day. Found all kinds of items, including keys, wallets, cash, working lighters, even brand new clothes with store price tags attached.

But, my favorite finds are good tools. Local findings include Sears Craftsman wrenches, hammers, hunting and pocket knives, tape measures, screwdrivers, etc.  Snagged a Crescent ToolZall multitool sheath lying in a parking space.   I found a large ironworkers wrench roadside while on vacation 1,000 miles away from home.

Even better, I found $20 bills on two different occasions.

Found these working lighters during a few month span walking along roads and in parking lots:

The blog is way behind.  I have lots of tools to photograph and write up.  Best find Stihl chainsaw.  Houston traffic is so bad a so heavy that I have lots of opportunities.  Yadda out.
