If its properly applied cerakote, it'll be super tough. I've used my own cerkoted tools on site for over 6 months and all it has is dirt and grime. The coating itself is still brand new.

I've heard good things about cerakote, but I've not always been impressed by Leatherman. I'm wondering what the nett result is and if they've actually made a decent job of it or if it's just for show
Nobody actually used/carried them? That's quite amusing
Since Eric mentioned it, is there some way to do a bead-blasting of the surface to be coated, like with a very fine media that would create more surface texture and improve the durability of the coating?

The pros blast with 120 grit aluminum oxide before coating. Who knows if leatherman does but it would be interesting to compare one of Erics custom cerakoted mods with a stock leatherman coated one.
