The hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne!
on: November 24, 2012, 09:05:41 AM
Jayne!
The Man they call Jayne!

He robbed from the rich and he gave to the poor,
He stood up to the man and he gave him what for.
Our love for him now, aint hard to explain,
The hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne!

Our Jayne saw the Mudders' backs breakin'
He saw the Mudders lament
And he saw that magistrate takin'
Every dollar and leavin' five cents

So he said, "You can't do that to my people"
"You can't crush them under your heel"
Jayne strapped on his hat
And in five seconds flat, stole everything Boss Higgins had to steal

He robbed from the rich and he gave to the poor
Stood up to the Man and he gave him what for
Our love for him now ain't hard to explain
The Hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne

Now here is what separates heroes
From common folk like you and I
The man they call Jayne
He turned 'round his plane, and let that money hit sky

He dropped it onto our houses
He dropped it into our yards
And the man they call Jayne
He turned round his plane, and headed out for the stars

He robbed from the rich and he gave to the poor
Stood up to the Man and he gave him what for
Our love for him now ain't hard to explain
The Hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne!

I'll have to see if I can find the 10th Anniversary show. I didn't even know it existed.

Never seen Suburgatory, and it doesn't look like my kind of fare, but I'm sure Alan Tudyk is great in whatever he does.

Drop box is a server that allows one to upload a file then provide links to other people who can download it directly.  It does more than that but I think this is the feature they were talking about.

I think I downloaded it. I started the download from Pirate Bay but I don't know if it completed yet.

I'm not saying I'm the biggest Firefly/Serenity fan here, but I did co-author a supplement to Serenity Role Playing Game (Six-Shooters and Spaceships). Which also means i got to give official canonical names to a bunch of the space ships in the Firefly Universe. http://www.amazon.com/Serenity-Six-Shooters-Spaceships-Role-Playing/dp/1931567816/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353956622&sr=8-1&keywords=six-shooters+%26+spaceships

Feel free to let me know when I've milked that for all the nerd-cred it can produce.

Also...

"It's my estimation that every man ever got a statue made of him was one kind of sommb!tch or another. Ain't about you Jayne. 'Bout what they need."

It was a little weird to me, watching Firefly. In the mid 80's, I was into all kinds of absolutely obscure black-and-white indy comics. One of my favorites was 'The Tick' (which has since also been a cartoon and short-lived live-action series). Fast forward to when Firefly came out, and there's 'Ben Edlund' as writer for 'Jaynestown'. I think he was also co-writer of the episode 'Trash'.

The Tick was great!

My favorite line ever....
