This morning I found my 97 Soldiers can opener perfect for winkling the plastic ring around the throat of a vitamin bottle off over the mouth.

Used my tinkers backside Phillips to undo a switch plate.
I reckon it might handle a bit more hard use than campus security's knives

EDCed the Explorer and I did some metal detecting on a beach where there was a pirate shipwreck many years ago. Used the in line Philips to tighten a loose screw on the detector. The scissors to open snacks. Then the mag glass to look at a very well worn coin that turned out to only be a silver quarter.  :ahhh

I'm still using the Compact, without rotating to any other SAKs for some days straight since I got it (except for one day I was on a trail and Huntsman got dutty).
Scissors are always used, mainly cutting loose threads, but also plastic packages.
Combo tool has a problem that seems to be fairly common, not many space between the tool and the liner causes friction. Still use it recently for opening a plastic clam shell like a can.
Hook has been phone stand for a friend that had slipery phone case.
Corkscrew I use it everyday for making holes in cardboard for making toys to my pet. Awl is much more effective, but when in a hurry, the cs does the  job.
I dont use the main blade all that much. Sometimes to cut open packages.
I definitly miss dedicated openers, and awl. But the size that I thought it didnt matter for 5th pocket, it matters. I was used to carry Explorer by a suspension clip, now just put the Compact on the 5th. Still not as cozy in there as one of the two 85mm Wengers, but more functional.

Edit: completly forgot... The pen. I always carry one but sometimes is deep inside a bag, or stays behind for some reason. Compact pen always ready for shopping list.

I play piano too: nah no superglue or fake nails just the correct length and a ramp shape to slice over the string. That is where the cadet file comes in handy.

Some bottle opening action with the Compact for the 1st time. The combo tool is a little slipery compared with normal opener. Still does the job.

I was unexpectedly served some unsliced grapefruit with my lunch. My Tourist was the perfect size.

I snapped a photo since I had been asked twenty minutes earlier, "How many knives does one dude need?"

Two plastic Barbie shoes had become stuck inside my son's toy garbage truck. I used my Spirit to pull them out.

I collect coins. Some are old and very valuable, some are just random. Sometimes people give me random coins... First time since I got my Explorer. Other great use for this SAK!

Huntsman on trail today was pure gold!
First time opening a can with a SAK, where I live all the cans have pullers, today the puller got broken, Huntsman to the rescue.
Than the scissors, first for cutting bandage for a cut in a bush, than for a nail that got broken in half on a rock.

Used the metal file on my Champ to file down some rough spots on a pocket clip. I was tired of scratching my hand whenever I put it in my pocket.   :(

Used the Cadet to open this parcel that contained some plus scales I picked up cheap on eBay from a US seller  :o Thinking I’m gonna put these on a 90s era Explorer that I’ve got kicking around.

Busy day for the old (new) farmer x today.
Cut up a nice peach.
Cut some rubber sheeting to stop a rattle in my car door.
Used to to remove those bloody annoying plastic screw plug thingies in the door.
Cut an annoying branch on the lemon tree, damn that saw is sharp.
Opened a packet of salmon pieces for lunch.
Cut some leather for the new pouch for it.
Used the scissors several times to cut the stitching for the pouch.
And finally......
Used the awl to start a hole for the screw holding my new barometer up on the wall.

Then cleaned it and oiled it.
Its been a busy day.
Put it back in the knife cabinet, inside its own little pouch to sleep......good night farmer x.

Been carrying the Handyman lately

The peek hole had some condensation that 3 days of moving around on the radiators and out the sun did not fix. Decided I'd try the harder way  :climber:

But the glue wasn't giving up so I thought I'd give it a little push  :pok: . The material used for this thing got hot in half a second so I used the pliers of the Handyman to hold it

What I did not realize is that the lens were plastic and did not cope well with fire  ::) So the front element got wrinkled. Some sandpaper and Autosol made it better. On the picture I've focused on the lens it's self, focusing on the view gives a decent enough picture. My phone wasn't cooperating so no "view" picture

then I pulled the napkin that's been in the hole of the door for a few days  :D

And for a finale - went down the cellar and took a bottle of the 2019 home made wine. Being innovative as I am - it's bottled in beer bottles, just because I had the bottles and did not want to buy wine bottles.

It's tastes good, but definitely different from what it used to be

On the early morning putler attacked my homeland I used a large screwdriver on my Work Champ to remove staples from a cardboard that was repurposed as an improvised bed in the basement of our house. No pictures were taken, but it’ll stay in my memory forever.
Dream. Wish. Leave nothing undone. Repeat.
