I know this will soon be a moot point, but just say for the sake or argument that you were a Swiss soldier, and were about to be issued with your Sak, if you had the choice which one would you pick and why ???

Personally I'd go for the Wenger SI :), I find the individual tools slightly superiour to the soldier, the blades got a lot more belly, the awl's a bit sharper, and best off all...that bail , why Victorinox saw fit not to include one or some other form of lanyard ring on there soldier I'll never know ::) (I'm guessing it came down to a money saving requirement)

So what about you fella's ???

I'd go with the Wenger, the bail alone is the tie-breaker.

Wenger for me too, for the above reason, plus I want to hang out with the cool kids! :D

Wenger SI, I don't care about the bail, I like the brass liner! Just half kidding, bail is great, but I took it off and threaded lanyard throught the hollow rivet.

I'm a Victorinox man  :)  But the lack of ring is annoying.

I'm totally a Vic man too, but in this instance I think the Wenger is the better of the two :)

I'd have to go with the Wenger because of the bail.

Moderator-if possible please move 1 vote from Vic to Wenger in the poll. I voted for the wrong one.

Being an old Vic man my mind was changed when I got an SI. :ahhh
I love the awl, the belly of the blade and since mine doesn't have a bail
but a hollow rivet I have cord running thru it.

It would be the SI over the Soldier. :pok:

My choice is the SI, but only for the bail.  The hollow rivet Vic would be a close second.

I have never had hands on either of these excellent knives but based on looks alone I would prefer the SI that said I wouldn't feel under gunned with the soldier.
