Wave bit driver awl?
on: January 21, 2013, 01:02:41 AM
So I was wondering has anyone here made an awl that fits into the bit driver for the wave? I think I am going to make two of them, one that can close into the tool and a longer one that can't close into the tool. I want to see any you guys have already made. If any of you have pictures of yours or any advice for doing this tell me here, thank you!

I think metro (Eric) has done this.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

No, but I think Bob did. He took a spade bit and ground it down. You'll also have to profile the edges down so it can it into the holder.

I think it was a 1/4" spade bit.

Be careful not to put too much load onto the bit holder, they don't look all that strong (and I've seen photos of broken ones    ).

These mods are the kind of thing someone needs to be selling. Not here per say although that is an option. I saw some adapters that covert the leatheman bit driver to a 1/4 driver on eBay. I guess ther probably isn't enough money in doing it. It seems the guy selling them on eBay no longer does it.
Bob sold some saws though edc source although I think those could have gone for a higher price.

Not hard! :D

I just figured out that that if you watch his videos with the sound down at 2x speed, they aren't that bad :tu:

Wished there was a setting on embedded playback to speed up his long winded and annoying voice commentaries.
