Arctic Military Canteen, Any Experience?
on: March 19, 2013, 07:20:51 PM
Ive been looking around online and found out about these arctic military canteens, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them? im really not after one to stay warm while freezing outside, but wondering if it keeps the water cold during a hot day? everywhere ive looked they say there good for winter and have kept them from freezing, so it should do the same for heat no? unless you keep it in the sun, grant it you cant cook in it but they have a large cup, any ideas or thoughts on them? thanks JR

I have a few Kleen Kanteen insulated bottles that absolutely keeps cold water cold during the hottest part of the summer.  They are great and are easy to clean.

I have a couple Hydroflasks, absolutely great! i also have a few military canteens with the cup, stove, and cover, but suck for keeping your water cold, plus get that nasty plastic taste. i also have a nalgene with a maxpedition like cover, much better then the canteens, but still have to get one of the cups to go over, and have to make a stove, but still dont keep the water cold, unlike the hydroflask, the larger hydroflask i have is a 40oz, same width as the nalgene, but is about 1" too tall, if they made a 30oz i think it would be perfect!
