Patexia is offering a $5000 prize for the best submission in a prior art search contest. The contest involves finding invalidating references for a patent describing a design for a multi-bulb flashlight.

In particular we are interested in finding light sources with two lamps/bulbs pointing in the same general direction and sharing a single concave reflector. One lamp/bulb should be at the focal point of the concave reflector (as in a normal single-source flashlight) and the second should protrude through the reflector’s surface. If you saw something like this before 1991, and can find the source to prove it, you will be eligible for the $5000 prize.

We’re also offering a $500 prize for referring the winner through our site, so feel free to invite your colleagues if you know the right person. You can see the contest here: http://bit.ly/UpTNdC

Welcome to the forum. :waving:

I don't remember seeing something like this, but maybe some of our other forums members can be of more use to you. I know there are flashlights with multiple reflectors and emitters using a single battery like the Spy007 Tri-V, but nothing as you are describing.

And going back as far as 1991 in flashlight world is AGES.

Also if you're planing to use the help of this community in the future too, it would be nice if you contacted the forum owner, Grant Lamontagne too.

Good luck on your search. :salute:

Sounds like someone is being sued for patent infringement ?

Could be worth also asking the question over at Candlepowerforums.com

I'm not aware of any candidates from that far back, but I wasn't that interested in lights back then.  Only one I can think of is LRI's Proton Pro.

You're welcome to submit it to the contest and a case research will have a look to see if it qualifies.
