Heyo from the woods of NH
on: February 07, 2013, 02:26:36 AM
Hey folks,

Finally got off my butt and registered an account, after lurking and getting lots of good info and pointers for the past month or two. I've even fallen victim to the one-piece keychain tool bug, and my wallet may never be the same.

Starting to look for a replacement for the older Gerber multi flip fold that one of my sons managed to hide somewhere, but in the interim having fun exploring the realm of what's out there and getting the insights from folks here who are a great source of the pros and cons of every make and model. It's much more entertaining than reading Consumer Reports... and not just because they don't do multis, but given the choice I'd rather buy a new multi than a household appliance anyway.

I'm also a bit of a dabbler, and may yet some day start hacking together my one mods and multis, though likely the one-piece variety first. My power tools don't yet include a CNC that can help me there, but I'm a fair hand with 3D software so eventually I may yet find a a way.

Now to go read some more of the forums and figure out where any disposable income I end up with is likely to end up...

-Bill
