Shrade small tough tool, thoughts?
on: February 09, 2013, 05:42:04 AM
I've been eyeing a few on eBay. I know it's a Shrade and its been taylorized but its a decent sized tool at 2.5" when folded and I like seeing The stubby Plier head AND torx screw construction (able to mod and upgrade the tools)

But my question is....who has one and can say to its quality.

I don't believe that's a Taylorized Schrade, I think that's just a tool that Taylor has put the Schrade name on.  It looks too generic to be one of Schrade's old designs, so my guess is that it comes from the same factory that cranks out the Sheffield LED tools.  The saw/serrated blade looks almost identical:

For mod fodder it might be worth a look, but I'm not sure there would be much worth salvaging out of it.

I was looking to convert it into a key holder for my various keys. The Micra and squirts maybe too small for the number of keys. It may still be too thick.

In that case it might be functional enough, although beware on any sticky locks!
