Wenger Level 3 Thread
on: April 17, 2025, 10:03:36 PM
I've picked up a number of Wengers over the years, and I thought I would post the more interesting of them.

Starting small:  Pocket Tech, Pocket Tool Chest, and an Esquire

I wanted a Hunter just for the inlay because I have a couple of long rifles.

I've been through the Wiki and I'm puzzled.  I call it a serrated Traveler with Philips, but I really have no idea.

And I just noticed that I hit 6 instead of 3 on the title.      Like turning it up to 11...

This is another oddball.  It has the toolset of a Fly Fisherman, but not the scales.

The grand finale for today.  Decades ago, when I could not afford to indulge in collecting knives and tools, I agonized over the old printed Campmor catalog.  I compared the Swisschamp and Tool Chest, and I also saw an intriguing tool by Wenger; the Pocket Grip.  I did not buy one, but it haunted my dreams.  A few years ago I started looking, but all of the ones I found for sale were missing part.  Then I saw this, and bid like I meant business.  I won  :D

I call it a serrated Traveler with Philips, but I really have no idea.
There are two other possibilities that I could see: Teton with nail file and Classic 16 with serrated blade. Goes to show that there are many possibilities with Wenger. Maybe it went back for warranty work or was modified by a previous owner.

And you have quite the collection there! :like:

Thanks to all for the kind comments!  Here are a few more:

An Apprentice, which was one of the first Wengers I got in a trade, and a Crusader that still needs some cleaup.

I like any knife with advertising, which is why I bought these.  A Commander with box, and a HIghlander.

"I still haven't found what I'm looking for..."

While posting these, I couldn't locate a couple that my list says I have: a plain Highlander and a Black scaled Commander.

The missing link in the collection is any Ranger.
