Mine probing kit
on: February 19, 2013, 10:24:00 AM
Just out of interest has anyone got one of these ....

I missed out on one of these a couple of years ago at a fairly good price. I didn't get it because probing mines isn't something I intend on taking up but from a collector point of view I wish I had.

Interesting looking combo, was this sold as a kit? What are the SS and BO bits for and why both, are they made of different material for different tasks? You can't just drop something like that in here without further info. ;)

Yes sold as a kit in a pouch , not to be confused with the Gerber weapons cleaning kit.

I'll see if I can find some more photos ;)  as for the stainless and BO bits I have know idea

Theres a picture with the pouch on this website http://www.gerber-tools.com/Gerber-Deluxe-Mine-Probe-Kit-05982.php

So those BO bits are Nylon then.

I am VERY happy to say that I have no use for a mine probe kit. :o  Very cool though. ;)
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Just always let someone walk in front of you and leave the mine probe at home!

I use to do that sort of stuff more than 20 years ago. Not as bad as it looks actually. There's no way I'd do it today :td:
